Wasting time at work

Working hard at job or hardly working ?
An online survey of 2,057 employees in US by online compensation company Salary.com found about 60% workers, especially who feel bored and underpaid, admit to wasting time at work with the average employee wasting 20% of their working day.
Personal internet use topped the list as the leading time-wasting activity according to 34% of respondents, with 20.3% then listing socialising with co-workers and 17% conducting personal business as taking up time.

Don't tell the boss, but I'm posting this comment from work...

But how could reading this blog be considered "wasting time" at work?

I like your blog sooo much... I've been reading the articles in it for quite a while now, but I never commented before. Numbers don't lie, they just reflect a dimension of existence different to that of humans. I like visualizing it like this, although it might sound a bit stupid: the universe numbers show is like a plain surface with square spaces in which you try to fit pieces that don't match the wholes because of differences in the shapes; those pieces are us. Each one of us is a uniquely shaped piece, and numbers do apply in certain aspects to our behaviour, but it's just a gross generalization; lastly, if they make you feel better it's because they are all square and understandable, whereas we, humans, tend to be quite a bit complexer.

cheers.

John's point is valid: reading this blog is part of keeping up with all the information that might be useful to me someday in my work! Thanks!k
