Under sleep is deadly

According to a multi-year analysis of 10,000 government workers in UK, people who cut their sleeping from 7 hours a night to 5 or less faced a 170% fold increased risk in mortality from all causes, and more than 200% fold increased risk of cardiovascular death.
This really makes me wondering ... I sleep less because of writing blogs; and you may sleep less because of reading blogs. Should we continue ?

Your blog takes me five minutes or less a night and brings a nice smile to close the day - so if that helps great - Jaryd

Less blogging would lead to an increase in stress levels and increased stress is 50% deadlier than lack of sleep. (I just made that up) So keep on bloggin'!

I know that I don't get enough sleep. When I was younger, I didn't need more than about 5-6 hours a night, but now I know my body is complaining when I only get 5 hours on most nights...on Sundays, the only day we can actually sleep late, I turn off the alarm and try to get 7 or 8 hours, but I usually wake up automatically. I guess things won't change until I retire...but this statistic is quite scary!

An interesting article. I am one of those that sleeps very little--sometimes less than 3hrs in a day. Although I function well with little sleep and can power nap to recharge, I also recognize some of the limitations.

Long term health effects are not something that I've given much consideration. You can often hear me say, "you can get all the sleep you want when you're dead." I guess that may happen sooner that I would expect!

Life. . .I am surprised by your readers. . . I thought I was the only person who did not sleep well. . . I thought it was 8 years of working nights that messed up my sleeping. . . looks like it is a normal blogger phenomena. . .
If we were all sleeping better. . . not much blogging would be going on.
