This makes complete sense, why not find someone through a friend. A friend is someone of which you hold trust, so if a friend leads you to someone, you automatically know that person is not just a waste of time. Even if you meet them at a bad moment, you are more willing to accept the fact that is all it is and that they are still a good person. You feel comfortable upon meeting someone when your around your friends as well which leads to you avoiding making an idiot out of yourself around the new person.
