Today I came cross a quote (below) of William Glasser (American psychiatrist, developer of Reality Therapy and Choice Theory). Don't know how serious he was about those numbers, but they make sense.
10% of what we READ
20% of what we HEAR
30% of what we SEE
50% of what we SEE and HEAR
70% of what is DISCUSSED with OTHERS
80% of what is EXPERIENCED PERSONALLY
95% of what we TEACH TO SOMEONE ELSE

Teachers do know a lot; but then, how old are those students ?
I heard these numbers before. That is why magic is a great tool for teaching a lesson.
It is also believed that it makes little difference if what we see is with our eyes or in our head. Somebody that is a good story teller knows that helping a person (student) to visualize what is being said is just as effective as showing them. Maybe that's why Jesus taught in parables.
Some selfish people keep what they know to themselves. They don't share their knowledge...
